Discover André Verdet through an original exhibition to mark the 20th anniversary of his death.

This adventurer of life and art was a singular artist, whose pictorial and graphic output represented more than 500 works, all produced in our village (Idoles, Sortilèges de Provence, Visages sacrifiés, Cosmogonies, Pierres de feu). Arman said of him: ‘André had inventions that alone would be enough to launch the careers of several artists’.

A painter of Provence and the stars, André Verdet was also a friend of artists who left their mark on their time: Arman, Hartung, Jenkins, Kijno, Léger, Miró, Picasso, Poliakoff, Prévert...
In the form of an evocation of a vanished setting, the exhibition highlights the work of André Verdet as well as little-known works by his artist friends, major figures of the second half of the 20th century.
