Saint-Paul de Vence has inspired many French songwriters. They have often linked the village to holidays, particularly after the Second World War.
In Nationale 7 (1955), for example, Charles Trenet points out that the legendary road "places Paris in the suburbs of Valence and on the outskirts of Saint-Paul de Vence".

Marcel Mouloudji, Isabelle Aubret and Julien Doré have all sung its praises, and there's even an American folk group from Seattle called St. Paul de Vence!
