Let's stay in touch
Every 10 days our news letter gives you fresh inspiration for your next trip to Saint-Paul de Vence.
Bang & Lessin are artists who take their collaborative work and practice as a life-long commitment: they are a singular unit of two artists working side-by-side, at all times.
Louise Bang and Gui Lessin are proponents of the "open atelier" concept in which the artist’s studio is placed at the center of the hands-on conception and making of artwork. The studio is fully open to the public, inviting critical scrutiny, a esthetic dialogue and the creative exchange of information.
Their influences include American Abstract Expressionism, the CoBrA movement, German contemporary abstraction, cave painting – with its zoo- and anthropomorphic allusions – as well as New York and London graffiti traditions.
Bang & Lessin launched their careers in the New York of the Eighties, where they first met. Europe has been their subsequent base of activity for over 15 years. Today they work and sell out of their summer studio in Saint-Paul de Vence, France and winter studio in Miami Beach, Florida.
The duo vigorously defends an art that is at the service of society, as well as an art that is respectful of the environment in which we live.
Bang & Lessin stand by works that are executed with archival substrata using the best quality materials available at the time.
